Scott has the technical knowledge, judgment, and understanding of the Club that the Technology Director role needs. I strongly support him.
What stands out to me about Scott is how deeply he understands the technology behind the Club’s systems. He knows how the pieces fit together, where the problems are, what can realistically be improved, and how to turn an idea into something members can actually use.
That gives him a perspective that’s hard to replace. He can answer the technical questions that often stop at the committee level, and he understands the bigger picture of where the Club should be heading.
He also has a clear sense of what matters most: making the Club site easier to use, making rides easier to find and lead, preserving the things members value, and building something that can improve over time.
Scott has the technical knowledge, judgment, and understanding of the Club that the Technology Director role needs. I strongly support him.

Plenty of other organizations build websites as cool or cooler than this one for a hell of a lot less money.

I fully agree with Alex S. and endorse Scott for Technology Director. There is a whitewash effort going on that really needs to stop. Plenty of other organizations build websites as cool or cooler than this one for a hell of a lot less money. There is some personal responsibility for this excess that Michael won't acknowledge, and I think having a group of technical people, like the ones who stood up at Connolly's in July 2025 and pointed out serious issues and have since become demotivated from helping, would serve the club better.
I saw Scott step up and deliver for me as ENY Ride Director in 2025, and then big time for Larry in 2026, and build a quality alternative club website FOR FREE… I could go on, and will if asked, but Alex S. makes the right point: it's time for a change that lets a team led by a competent engineer take the site forward, made up of technical volunteers who want to do the work. Scott has a crew of these folks ready to help, if they wouldn't be ignored or placated… My two cents.
$150K*??? I brought an external team forward from Canada three years ago that could have done it for well under $30K, but was told (by Michael) that a two-tier architecture wouldn't work. And guess what we got? A two-tier architecture.
I will end by saying that Michael Diener has done, and I hope will continue to do, many great things in this club (laps, Ride Angels, the website), but I think Scott deserves support and to be given a chance to do more. The efforts to say he's not a team player, when the price he had to pay to play is to cover up things he sees clearly are wrong? He's just not the kind of person to do that… and I'd lose my temper too!! I think if a committee of peers had a different point of view on technical issues, he'd shift gears and hear them. Did Michael? Ask members of the committee he led and hear the truth…
I will be voting for Scott and encourage you to do so as well!

* The $150K is the paid development to launch the site: $149,820 in the board's own Website expenses FAQ. Add the design and post-launch work listed in the same FAQ and the total comes to about $204,700. The club's financial statements show $198,712 through October 7, 2026 (year by year).

We all joined the club to ride, and Scott can give us technology that brings us together without our ever having to think about it.
I'm proud to endorse Scott for Technology Director. Scott is a capable, smart, and driven engineer who genuinely cares about this community and about standing up for and doing what's right. He has spent decades bringing web apps and technology to market, and he knows what it takes to build something that works and keeps working. With that kind of experience available to us, it would be a waste not to put his talents to work building and steering the club's tech.
Scott's backbone is one of a kind. If something isn't right, he speaks up. He's the kind of person who takes real responsibility and gets things done now, not someday. That's exactly what we need in this role, because we deserve better. We all joined the club to ride, and Scott can give us technology that brings us together without our ever having to think about it. I trust him to make that happen, and I hope you'll join me in voting for him.

We have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the club, Scott has built a site that systematizes this knowledge, and makes it readily accessible.
Scott is forward-looking about the role of technology in the club, and interested in building tools that make leading and planning rides better for club members. We have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the club, Scott has built a site that systematizes this knowledge, and makes it readily accessible.

Scott's sites aren't just technical exercises. They solve real problems for members and volunteers, and they show he understands what the club needs.
I'm pleased to endorse Scott Weinstein for Technology Director on the NYCC board. Scott is someone who pitches in, and he doesn't wait to be asked. He has built several genuinely useful websites for the club, including eny.nycc.org, a newer, better version of the ENY ride website, and tools.nycc.org, an alternative build of the club's rides app. Scott's sites aren't just technical exercises. They solve real problems for members and volunteers, and they show he understands what the club needs.
I worked closely with Scott on ENY as Director of Sponsorships, and he was consistently able to meet my needs quickly. His smart use of AI tools and his work enabling volunteers to get productive with Google Workspace made for a team that was easy to work with and a lot more effective. I've also had the pleasure of riding with Scott on many occasions, and he brings the same good humor and reliability to the saddle that he brings to his volunteer work. He'd be a great addition to the board, and I hope you'll join me in supporting him.

He'll put ego aside and take a crowdsourced approach, turning member feedback into a product built around it. tools.nycc.org is the proof of this.
I'm writing to endorse Scott Weinstein for Club Technology Director. I'm an active ride leader and participant, and I've served as both participant and leader in the SIG program.
The Board should be a voice for members: improving the rider and leader experience, spending our dues responsibly, and keeping everyone safe on rides and through Club advocacy. Scott is someone I trust to continue to represent those interests. He's the kind of person people enjoy riding with, patient as a leader and a participant, and always ready to help. I know that firsthand: he participated in the first ride I was a leader on, and gave me invaluable tips on communicating effectively with, and keeping safe a large group of participants. He delivered this feedback in a genuinely helpful way, and I've applied it across every ride since. Scott was also more than willing to lend me his hard-sided bike case before we'd even met - this speaks to his generosity and trust in club members.
While I haven't worked with Scott professionally, his record as a technology and strategy leader at multiple world-renowned companies speaks for itself. Many of us have felt the friction in the current site, particularly for leaders and participants (for leaders, the new site has absolutely degraded user experience). Scott won't be a magic wand, but he'll put ego aside and take a crowdsourced approach, turning member feedback into a product built around it. tools.nycc.org is the proof of this.
Scott is and should continue to be a valued member of the board, and will make an excellent Technology Director.

A modern interface will be essential to recruit and retain 20- and 30-somethings.
I appreciate the future-oriented push to bring a better, more modern product/interface to the club for significantly less costs over the long haul. A modern interface will be essential to recruit and retain 20- and 30-somethings. And I too would love to be able to migrate ride and ride lead history into the new website as a means of rewarding ride leaders and especially long-term cyclists who make up the core of the NYCC community.

If it were up to me, I would pivot from app.nycc.org, and use tools.nycc.org for the rides platform.
I hope to give my perspective as a software engineer who has invested time in app.nycc.org. If it were up to me, I would pivot from app.nycc.org, and use tools.nycc.org for the rides platform.
One of the big advantages I see with tools.nycc.org is not only the UX advances, but also the fact that it’s already connected to nycc.org data. This makes it much easier to test, iterate on, and onboard club members.

The feedback button built into NYCC.bike itself is a game changer and will permit members to easily submit new ideas.
The NYCC.bike interface is exceptionally user friendly. As a member of the Membership_App testing team, I was surprised by how difficult it was to test and submit feedback. I believe you will receive more valuable stakeholder opinions by making it as simple as possible to provide them. The feedback button built into NYCC.bike itself is a game changer and will permit members to easily submit new ideas. It’s exciting to see other features like the ferry/train finder, too!
Even as a relatively new club member, I am proud of the rides I’ve led and am sad that history would be erased if using the Membership_App. NYCC.bike proves it does not have to be!

tools.nycc.org is visually appealing, has the integration with Strava that I love, and the ride filters - which are so important - is way better than app.nycc.org.
